📝 Description: Khelkid
On the run from certain death, Rose is panicked as she sees this is the end. She prays for a way out and her wish is granted. Out of the aether, a hand wearing an immaculate white glove beckons her from a blue vortex to join them. With nowhere else to go, she took the plunge and emerged to find herself from her native South Carolina to the outskirts of Phoenix, Arizona. Khelkid follows the adventures of 20-year-old Rose, a young black woman who has a stark career change from housekeeper to monster hunter. Far from just classic cryptids, encounter a whole menagerie of unsettling foes guaranteed to put you on edge. In the height of the Jazz Age, monsters aren't the only things she has to worry about. Rose soon finds herself embedded in the crossroads between two mob factions and their trail of violence. Combining historical fiction and horror, Khelkid blends the harsh realities of the past and the ones conjured from the depths of Hell itself.

Khelkid attempts to bridge the gap between historical drama and cosmic horror through the journey of Rose. The blend of Jazz Age history with supernatural elements offers a distinct tone, though it may not suit readers seeking intricate world-building or complex character arcs beyond the initial hook. Those preferring subtle psychological horror over action-oriented monster hunting might find the 'menagerie of unsettling foes' too overt. It is best suited for casual readers looking for atmospheric, genre-blending entertainment rather than literary depth.
