📝 Description: It Came From Above
Mysterious disappearances. A helpless group of friends. Will any of them survive? Sean finally has an opportunity to take his long time crush Samantha on a date. They go to the drive-in movie theater, they're flirting back and forth, and everything is going perfectly. That is, until she disappears. In this story, reminiscent of classic 80's slasher films, Sean and his friends try their best at finding out what really happened that night, while trying to avoid meeting their own demise along the way. In his first story ever written, Matthew Mercer tries to revive the formula used in many of the classic slasher films from the 80s that we all know and love. This will be the first of many in a horror anthology series that will provide fresh and bloody takes on urban legends, creatures, and other stories that we are all used to.

The primary strength of this text lies in its deliberate adherence to the stylistic conventions of 1980s horror cinema. It successfully captures the essence of that period through its focus on a helpless group of friends and the suspenseful mystery surrounding sudden disappearances. The narrative prioritizes atmospheric tension and genre fidelity over complex character development, which suits fans of pure, unadulterated slasher fare. This work is best suited for readers who value nostalgia and the specific tropes of classic creature features. It functions effectively as a tribute to the era, offering fresh yet familiar bloody scenarios within an anthology framework designed to explore urban legends and known horror entities.
