Insidious Wolves: Hillcrest Forest

Alexandra Ellis writes Insidious Wolves: Hillcrest Forest, a novel that places Eve, an environmental science major, and her classmate Simon into a terrifying situation during a routine research trip. They encounter Rakers, creatures of nightmare origin, within the shadows of Hillcrest Forest. The narrative follows their flight for survival and their subsequent rescue by an otherworldly figure who introduces them to a secret conflict between these sinister entities and those protecting humanity. The story blends supernatural horror with dark thriller elements, focusing on rapid-paced action and chilling encounters. Ellis structures the plot around the immediate threat of the forest's inhabitants and the broader war for human safety. The book serves as the opening installment in a series, inviting readers into a world where the natural order is disrupted by ancient evils. It appeals to fans of supernatural mysteries and those who enjoy tense, creature-feature narratives without requiring prior knowledge of complex lore. Readers seeking gentle romance or slow-burn character studies may find the pace too intense. The text relies on the tension between scientific rationality and unexplainable horror. Ellis uses the setting of Hillcrest Forest to ground the fantastical elements in a recognizable, albeit dangerous, environment. The narrative does not shy away from the visceral fear of being hunted by beings that defy natural laws.
