Infested
Four short horror tales by Stephen King exploring fear and survival.
The volume contains four new adventures designed to test the limits of human courage. It focuses on the internal struggle against paralyzing dread and the instinct to keep going despite mortal threats. The narrative structure relies on short, potent encounters with the supernatural rather than extended plotlines. This approach allows for a concentrated examination of how fear manifests in different scenarios. The text does not offer comfort or easy resolutions but instead presents raw emotional responses to terror. It is a straightforward collection that prioritizes atmosphere and psychological tension over complex character development.
Published in April 2017, this work sits within the contemporary independent publishing landscape. It continues King’s legacy of accessible horror fiction for American audiences seeking quick, potent scares.

A friend from my book club recommended it. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Happy enough with the purchase.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
First order from this shop. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Shipping was quick too.
Finally got around to ordering this. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Already eyeing my next order.
Needed a good scare and got one. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Solid, if not essential.
Arrived quickly and well packaged. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Recommended with reservations.
