This anthology delivers a potent mix of cosmic and psychological dread, targeting enthusiasts of dark fantasy and true horror. Hazlett’s focus on demonic artifacts and AI nightmares offers fresh variations on classic tropes, appealing to those who enjoy the unsettling blend of technology and the occult. However, readers seeking traditional gothic romance or lighthearted supernatural tales will likely find the tone too bleak and intense. It is best suited for those who relish biological monstrosities and twisted endings. While the collection is robust in its thematic exploration of divine darkness, it may alienate casual readers preferring clearer emotional resolutions or less visceral imagery.
