Fixed: A Chloe Daniels Mystery

Deidra D S Green presents Fixed, a standalone mystery that intersects with the broader Daniels Project. The narrative centers on Melvin Lane, who identifies as Mica Lanae and struggles with the brutality of those who refuse to accept her true self. When a prostitute dies in a manner that mirrors Mica’s own life, the stifled rage within her finally erupts. This unleashed fury drives Mica to plot revenge, leaving a trail of bodies for readers to follow. The story operates as a thriller rooted in the traditions of supernatural and gothic fiction, though it focuses heavily on psychological terror rather than ghosts or monsters. Green explores the consequences of forced identity and the violence used to enforce conformity. The plot is driven by Mica’s internal conflict and her external actions against those who harmed her. Readers will encounter a protagonist whose motivation stems from long-term oppression and sudden liberation through violence. This book suits audiences interested in character-driven horror that examines gender issues and the cost of suppressed anger. It may not appeal to readers seeking traditional monster hunts or lighthearted supernatural adventures. The narrative does not offer easy resolutions but rather presents a raw look at rage and identity. Green qualifies as an independent author who crafts intense, personal dramas within the horror genre.
