📝 Description: Deadly Night

Breigh wants nothing more than to relax at home and read a book on Halloween. After all, it is not a day she enjoys remembering. One year ago, she and her sister, Mylah, got into an argument and Mylah stormed out never to be seen again. She believes Mylah is dead and that their mother who abandoned them when they were kids killed her. Mylah's best friend Layla moves in with Breigh to help each other cope with Mylah's disappearance. One year later, Breigh meets a guy named Arlo, who invites her to a night of fun. Breigh denies the invitation, but Layla believes they should go to distract themselves from Mylah. What starts to be the best time of their lives, ends up being a night of terror. Breigh, Layla, and four people they do not know are all fighting to survive as they venture through a haunted attraction with not one but two people trying to kill them. Will they survive the night? Or will it end deadly? Deadly Night is a fast-paced short story that will keep you on your toes until the very end with an unexpected twist.

Horror desk
While 'Deadly Night' offers a brisk, unpretentious thrill suitable for fans of classic slashers, it lacks the literary depth or psychological nuance expected in more serious gothic or cosmic horror. The plot relies heavily on familiar genre clichés, such as the missing sister and the masked killer, offering little innovation to seasoned readers. It is not suited for those seeking complex character studies, atmospheric dread, or sophisticated prose. Instead, it caters strictly to consumers of pulpy, action-driven suspense who prioritize pace over substance.
