📝 Description: Bludgeoner
A throwback to the golden age of horror paperbacks! Summer, 1983. It's the last day of high school in the quaint suburb of San Palmo, where a group of friends goes out camping to celebrate their first night of freedom. Their plan is to party and drink as much as humanly possible. Little do they know, they're about to get hammered. A short and sweet teen slasher in the vein of Halloween and Friday the 13th, this novella will hit you upside the head right until the very end.

Martinez delivers a spirited homage to the slasher genre, effectively channeling the tension of late-80s cinema into prose. The setting of San Palmo provides a familiar backdrop for a story that relies on the juxtaposition of youthful celebration and sudden terror. While the plot follows established tropes, the execution is tight and energetic, avoiding the pitfalls of drawn-out pacing common in longer novels. This work best suits readers who enjoy straightforward, action-driven horror and have a soft spot for retro aesthetics. It succeeds by embracing its simplicity, offering a pure, unadulterated dose of genre fun that respects its influences while delivering a punchy, memorable experience from start to finish.
