In a desperate attempt to save her sanity, Rachel uncovers an ancient curse that could be a clue to her struggles. Caught in a violent turmoil of destiny, Rachel turns to all the wrong people for help and soon discovers a plot against her that dates back to 11th century Scotland. Horror desk

The narrative effectively merges gothic atmosphere with psychological distress, creating a tense experience for enthusiasts of dark fantasy. By weaving vampire lore into a Scottish historical context, it offers a distinct flavor often missing in standard horror. The focus on an alternate personality provides a fresh angle on possession tropes, appealing to readers who prefer internal conflict alongside external threats. While the premise relies heavily on established genre conventions, the specific setting and character dynamics offer enough novelty to engage fans of tragic heroes. It is best suited for those who enjoy slow-burn horror where the psychological stakes are as high as the supernatural ones, rewarding patience with a sense of escalating dread.
