Took a chance on it after reading the description here. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. Still worth having on the shelf.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Recommended with reservations.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. The cover feels thinner than expected. Solid, if not essential.
Finally got around to ordering this. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
