Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Highly recommend.
Needed a good scare and got one. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Great value for what you get.
Grabbed it for a long flight. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Happy enough with the purchase.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Needed a good scare and got one. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. The cover feels thinner than expected. Good, with the caveats above.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. Great value for what you get.
