Grabbed it for a long flight. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Definitely recommend.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Recommended with reservations.

This volume is strictly for genealogists tracing New England lines from the late eighteenth century. If you seek atmospheric dread, gothic terrors, or speculative fiction, this dry record of descent will disappoint you entirely.
