Was skeptical at first. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The binding held up to being carried around for a week. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Good, with the caveats above.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. The cover feels thinner than expected. Solid, if not essential.
Finally got around to ordering this. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Wanted something for October and it delivered. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Great value for what you get.
Was skeptical at first. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Good, with the caveats above.
Finally got around to ordering this. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The cover feels thinner than expected. Good, with the caveats above.
