Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Happy enough with the purchase.
Was skeptical at first. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Still worth having on the shelf.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Great value for what you get.
