The Rose Cases: Sylvie's Diary

Martha Wickham presents a collection of nine paranormal horror stories centered on the Rose psychic investigators. The narrative begins with Sylvie Langly stepping in for her mother Lana after a car crash to investigate a missing boy near a forest. This entry, titled A Rose in the Forest, establishes the group’s dynamic as they tackle cases that require both courage and supernatural insight. The collection continues with Roses Blue hiring new members Robin and Melissa to handle a haunting at an old school. Their motivations are unclear, adding tension to the investigation. The group then moves to an abandoned asylum in Asylum Stop to prove their legitimacy against skeptics. Other tales include Haunted Destination, The Disappearing Ivy, and The Supernatural Trick, all arranged chronologically to show the team’s growth. Wickham writes for readers who enjoy ensemble casts facing supernatural threats in isolated settings. Those seeking complex character psychology or literary prose may find the plot-driven structure simple. The book suits fans of classic ghost stories and group dynamics in horror fiction. It does not appeal to readers who prefer slow-burn psychological terror over action-oriented paranormal encounters. The stories focus on the mechanics of fighting the supernatural rather than deep emotional exploration.
