Been meaning to get this one for a while. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. Recommended with reservations.
Arrived quickly and well packaged. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted.
Was skeptical at first. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Five stars from me.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Still worth having on the shelf.
