📝 Description: The Lamplighters

Frazer Lee’s The Lamplighters follows Marla Neuborn, who accepts a post-grad position on Meditrine Island. This exclusive paradise is owned by a consortium of billionaires. Her role as a Lamplighter involves tending to mansions, cooking, cleaning, and turning on lights to simulate occupancy. The contract demands total isolation. She will not know the island’s location or contact the outside world during her stay. Marla soon discovers the luxury is a facade. The chief of security enforces strict control with an iron fist. A private police force patrols the shores around the clock. CCTV cameras monitor the staff relentlessly. Marla encounters the Skin Mechanic and learns why few Lamplighters survive their tenure. The narrative focuses on the horror hidden within this idyllic setting. This book suits readers who enjoy supernatural fiction with a focus on isolation and corporate dread. It appeals to those interested in gothic tales of entrapment. Readers seeking lighthearted beach reads or traditional romance will find little appeal here. The story relies on tension rather than action sequences.
