Reader rating
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Good, with the caveats above.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Recommended with reservations.
Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Solid, if not essential.
Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Still worth having on the shelf.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. Glad I finally picked this up.
