A friend from my book club recommended it. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. Some chapters are hard to read in the best possible way. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Still worth having on the shelf.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Happy enough with the purchase.
Grabbed it for a long flight. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. Would buy from this store again.
First order from this shop. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. The audiobook crowd will want the paper copy for the margins. It assumes some familiarity with the genre's tropes. Still worth having on the shelf.
