📝 Description: Smooth: a novel of horror

Beside the still water...the zombies roam. A slightly different take on the zombie genre, Smooth asks if the world be better if we were all neutral and complacent (without violence, greed, hatred, and yes, love and compassion) as parts of our personalities? The road to absolute peace is filled with more than just bumps and gravel when catt dahman tells it; heads will roll...literally. The town of Cold Springs is about to receive the gift of full serenity and some people intend to fight it (as well as the zombies) all the way to the end!

Horror desk

Dahman delivers a thought-provoking entry into horror fiction by reimagining the zombie plague as a path to forced serenity. The work excels in its conceptual boldness, transforming mindless monsters into instruments of philosophical inquiry. While the premise is intellectually stimulating, the execution focuses heavily on the tension between fighting for emotional freedom and accepting violent neutrality. This approach suits readers who prefer horror with a strong ideological core over pure gore. It is an ideal choice for those interested in cosmic and psychological horror elements that dismantle traditional morality. The story invites contemplation on whether a world without hatred is truly better, making it a standout for fans of speculative fiction that dares to ask uncomfortable questions about the human condition.
