📝 Description: Selections From The Prose Tales Of Edgar Allan Poe (1911)

This volume presents a curated selection of prose tales by Edgar Allan Poe, originally published in 1911. The text is a facsimile reprint produced by Kessinger Publishing in 2010, designed to preserve the original work for modern readers. Because the source material dates back over a century, the pages may show signs of age. These imperfections include marks, notations, marginalia, and potentially flawed pages that reflect the book’s history. The publisher views this work as culturally important. Their commitment involves protecting and promoting world literature through affordable, high-quality editions that remain true to the original text. This edition is suitable for collectors or readers interested in historical printing methods and the preservation of classic horror and gothic fiction. It may not suit those seeking a pristine, modern typeset with no visual artifacts from its past. The book contains Poe’s prose tales, drawing on the traditions of supernatural fiction established in the nineteenth century. The organization follows the structure of the 1911 original. Readers will find stories that define the genre, presented in a format that honors the physical characteristics of early twentieth-century publishing. Excellent find

Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Shipping was quick too.

Very good

I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Happy enough with the purchase.

A modern classic

Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Already eyeing my next order.

Read it in one night

First order from this shop. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. Five stars from me.
