San Casimiro, Texas: Short Stories

Mario E Martinez presents a collection of unsettling narratives set in San Casimiro, Texas. The town appears ordinary from the road but hides dark secrets among its residents. The stories explore how something lurking in the brush and ranch lands alters the people who live there. Martinez draws on horror and supernatural traditions to depict a community where sanity is fragile. The book features serial killers, living piles of bones, and a vengeful parasitic twin. Readers encounter haunted cacti and a mortician who flavors hamburgers with human fat. These elements create an atmosphere where staying too long leads to madness. The collection relies on the grotesque and the uncanny to unsettle the reader. Martinez qualifies this work by focusing on the specific horrors of small-town Texas life. The stories are organized to reveal the gradual decay of the community. This book suits readers who enjoy visceral horror and dark humor. It does not suit those seeking uplifting or conventional supernatural tales. The narrative style is direct and unflinching in its depiction of the macabre.
