📝 Description: Sam Spallucci: Fury of the Fallen

Things just never seem to go right for poor old Sam... Having just defeated a cabal of power-hungry werewolves, you would think that the poor guy would be able to catch a break, but no, fate has other ideas. In his latest set of adventures, we see his five minutes of peace and calm rudely interrupted by an irate fallen angel who wants back the ultimate weapon that they created at the beginning of time. Not only that but Lancaster's local ghosts are in revolt, there is a case where possessed books are causing bother for their owner and a genie just can't stop helping those in need. Also, if that wasn't enough, an ancient Canaanite goddess, who is used to the unadulterated adoration of the masses, has designs on Lancaster's paranormal investigator, and not just in helping her launch her online cooking channel!

Horror desk

The book excels at maintaining a humorous tone amidst chaotic supernatural events, preventing the stakes from becoming overly oppressive. It successfully merges disparate horror elements like fallen angels and ancient goddesses into a cohesive, albeit frantic, narrative. The inclusion of modern touches, such as online cooking channels, grounds the fantasy in relatable contemporary contexts. This approach suits readers who enjoy fast-paced plots with minimal emotional weight. It is ideal for those seeking amusement over dread, offering a refreshing alternative to traditional grimdark horror. The variety of antagonists keeps the pacing lively, ensuring that each new threat feels distinct yet connected to the protagonist's ongoing misfortunes.
