This short story effectively expands the Ragnarok Rising universe by shifting focus to unseen characters, offering a novel perspective on its dark world. The narrative promises a blend of cosmic and psychological horror elements, typical of D A Roberts' style. While it may not stand entirely alone for those unfamiliar with the broader saga, it succeeds in delivering atmospheric tension and intrigue. It is best suited for dedicated fans of the series or readers who enjoy fragmented, myth-based horror tales. The approach allows for a concentrated dose of genre conventions without extensive preamble, making it a efficient yet engaging experience for those invested in this specific fictional landscape.
