Private Affair and Other Stories: Short Story Book

Abhisek Ghosh presents Private Affair and Other Stories, a collection blending horror with romance for readers who enjoy suspenseful narratives. The volume opens with the title story, which follows Seema Reddy as she attempts to save her lover Sundar after he is attacked before their wedding. Her efforts are complicated by secrets from her past, forcing her to choose between saving him or paying a heavy price. This central narrative sets the tone for a book that caters to fans of both horror and romance genres. Ghosh organizes the work as a series of short stories designed to appeal to both young adults and adults. The collection features elements of suspense alongside romantic entanglements, creating a specific atmosphere for its audience. The publisher notes that the content includes scenes with blood on the floor, indicating a level of visceral intensity that requires reader discretion. Ghosh writes with care to address the specific tastes of those seeking this unique intersection of genres. The book is published independently and released in 2020. It draws on traditional horror tropes mixed with romantic drama to create its effect. The stories are structured to provide quick, intense engagements rather than long-form development. Readers who prefer gentle or purely academic works may find the violent imagery disturbing. However, those looking for a mix of emotional stakes and physical danger will find this collection aligns with their preferences. The final story leaves the reader with lingering questions about sacrifice and consequence.
