Higginson delivers a compelling entry in her dystopian romance series, focusing on Page Parker’s quest for vengeance and family reunion. The narrative effectively balances zombie-slaying action with the complexities of rebuilding trust in a war-torn landscape. While the premise relies on familiar genre tropes, the execution offers sufficient emotional depth to keep readers invested in the characters' journeys. The pacing is brisk, catering to those who prefer plot-driven stories over slow-burn atmospherics. It suits readers looking for an accessible, action-packed romance with a horror backdrop, providing entertainment through its blend of survival stakes and romantic hope.
