Live-In Carer

Pk Baker writes Live-In Carer, a work of gothic fiction that examines the isolation of domestic care work through a supernatural lens. The narrative follows Leah, who takes a live-in position to escape a recent breakup and seek financial stability. She arrives at a large country estate to assist a grieving man. The story unfolds as Leah encounters strange occurrences within the old building. Footsteps echo in the night, and doors refuse to open when she needs them most. These events force her to question the nature of the house and its history. Baker draws on traditions of haunted house literature to build tension. The plot focuses on Leah’s struggle to distinguish between structural faults and malicious intent. As the phenomena escalate, the threat becomes clear and dangerous. She must balance her duty to protect her employer with her own safety. The narrative does not offer easy answers about the past or the present. It presents a claustrophobic environment where trust erodes quickly. This book suits readers who enjoy slow-burn psychological horror and gothic atmospheres. It appeals to those interested in stories about isolation and unseen dangers. Readers seeking fast-paced action or clear resolutions may find the pacing deliberate. The story remains grounded in Leah’s perspective as she navigates the sinister events unfolding around her.
