Kitty Raises Hell

Carrie Vaughn returns to her urban fantasy series with a narrative that follows Kitty Norville and her partner Ben as they leave Las Vegas for their home in Denver. The story centers on an invisible evil that smells of brimstone and leaves charred ashes across the city, stalking the werewolf pack. This supernatural threat forces Kitty to seek assistance from Rick, the master vampire of Denver, and a team of paranormal investigators featured on a popular reality television show. A mysterious vampire who claims to be a demon hunter arrives with promises of help, yet his true intentions remain unclear. The plot requires Kitty and her allies to determine what this new figure wants and how to extinguish the terror that threatens to torch them all. This work appeals to readers who enjoy contemporary paranormal mysteries involving werewolves and vampires interacting in modern American cities. It suits those interested in urban fantasy where magical creatures deal with immediate physical dangers like fire and death. The narrative draws on traditions of shapeshifter lore and vampire politics within a present-day setting. It may not suit readers seeking historical gothic horror or pure romance without supernatural conflict. Vaughn, known for her Kitty Norville series, structures the plot around the pack's survival against a specific, destructive force rather than abstract political intrigue. The story relies on the tension between the pack and the mysterious demon hunter to drive the action forward.
