Jack Heath crafts a queasily funny atmosphere that distinguishes this thriller from standard police procedurals. The protagonist’s dual life as a cleaner for a crime lord and an FBI consultant creates compelling dramatic irony and tension. While the plot moves through diverse settings like a sex doll factory and a Louisiana landfill, the true strength lies in the dynamic between Blake and agent Reese Thistle. Their relationship adds emotional weight to the suspense. This book is best suited for readers seeking unconventional heroes and dark comedy rather than serious literary fiction or traditional crime dramas.
