Was skeptical at first. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Recommended with reservations.
Been meaning to get this one for a while. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Recommended with reservations.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. Print is comfortable for late-night reading. Five stars from me.
Needed a good scare and got one. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Great value for what you get.
