Counting Bodies Like Sheep: Extreme Horror Anthology

This anthology delivers on its promise of extreme horror through eighteen distinct voices united by a theme of chaotic aftermath. The collection excels in maintaining high-energy, fast-paced narratives that do not shy away from graphic content or moral ambiguity. By featuring established names in the splatterpunk scene alongside emerging talents, it offers a robust sampling of the subgenre's current state. The focus on bad decisions resulting in full-circle carnage provides a cohesive thread despite the varied authorship. It suits readers who prioritize visceral impact and shocking plot twists over character development. While not for the faint-hearted, it successfully pushes boundaries and delivers the promised gore with confidence and stylistic flair throughout its pages.
