Added this to the shelf next to the ones I reread. Not a jump-scare book; it gets under the skin and stays there. Will be gifting a copy to a friend.
Arrived quickly and well packaged. There's real craft in how much is left unsaid. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Still worth having on the shelf.
Was skeptical at first. The prose is clean and the scares land because the characters feel real. Highly recommend.
Needed a good scare and got one. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The cover feels thinner than expected.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. If you like this kind of cooking, don't hesitate.
