⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Good, with the caveats above.
Grabbed it for a long flight. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Definitely recommend.
Finished it over a stormy weekend, which helped. It leans on old gothic bones and makes them creak convincingly. Delivery took a bit longer than quoted. Good, with the caveats above.

Seekers of gothic dread and psychological terror will adore this volume. Fans of classic literature, vintage horror, and atmospheric poetry should buy it. However, those craving fast-paced modern thrillers or rigid non-fiction history may find the melancholic tone and archaic style insufficiently engaging for their preferences.
