Bought this for my brother and ended up reading it first. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. A keeper.
This has been on my wishlist for months. It pairs well with the classics it is clearly in conversation with. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. Definitely recommend.
Not my usual subgenre but wanted to branch out. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. The cover feels thinner than expected. Happy enough with the purchase.
First order from this shop. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. If you like this kind of cooking, don't hesitate.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. The atmosphere builds slowly and then does not let go. My only regret is not ordering it sooner.
Took a chance on it after reading the description here. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. A couple of the side characters are thinly drawn. Recommended with reservations.
