Another Christmas Carol

Brian Hofacker reimagines the classic tale by resurrecting Ebenezer Scrooge from his grave nearly two hundred years after his death. This narrative departs from traditional ghost stories as Scrooge must confront a new apocalyptic threat rather than seek personal redemption. The plot centers on the Spirits of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, who are now forgotten, lost, and dying. They have been replaced by Ignorance and Want, depicted as yellow, meager, ragged, scowling, wolfish children hiding within the folds of a robe. These new entities aim to bring Doom to the world alongside a Demon called Doubt, whose sole desire is to trigger the end of days. The story positions Scrooge as the only man capable of stopping this apocalypse despite his long absence from the living world. The text draws on the original Dickensian framework but twists it into a battle against ghouls, goblins, and demons. This edition suits readers who enjoy supernatural fiction with a horror twist on familiar folklore. It may not appeal to those seeking the traditional moral lessons of goodwill found in the original Victorian tale. The narrative focuses on action and survival rather than reflection. Hofacker presents a scenario where Christmas peace is actively under siege by malevolent forces that have evolved from their symbolic origins into tangible threats requiring physical intervention.
