Horror Reads is curated by a small editorial team — readers, reviewers and lifelong fans of the genre.
Between us we cover the map: the gothic and the Victorian ghost story, weird and cosmic horror, the paperback boom, psychological and literary horror, dark fantasy, horror comics and true crime. Some of us come from literature programs; some from decades of convention floors and small-press reading; the best of us from both.
What unites the desk is a simple rule: we do not recommend what we have not examined. Every title's description and Horror Reads Score comes from an editor's actual reading, checked against the tradition's own literature.
