Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Good introduction if you have not read this author before. A few scenes I will not forget, whether I want to or not. Five stars from me.
A friend from my book club recommended it. The ending is bleak and honest, not a twist for the sake of one. One of my better finds this year.
Arrived quickly and well packaged. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. Read it in two sittings; the second one ran past midnight. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Still worth having on the shelf.
Grabbed it for a long flight. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. The cover feels thinner than expected. Recommended with reservations.
I read a lot of horror and I'm picky. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Would buy from this store again.

📖 Who should read this
You will adore this collection if you cherish gothic atmosphere, historical horror, and Bram Stoker’s lesser-known short fiction. It is strictly for those who appreciate period-accurate prose. However, readers seeking modern psychological depth, fast-paced contemporary thrillers, or academic non-fiction analysis will likely find these tales too slow and dated.
