Mercy House

Michael Novian presents Mercy House, the opening installment in The Hollow Archive series. This connected psychological supernatural horror narrative follows Craig and his construction crew as they accept a renovation contract for an abandoned hospice outside Gatesville. The team anticipates standard structural decay but encounters phenomena that defy logic. Call buttons activate in vacant rooms, telephones ring with voices of the deceased, and corridors shift their geometry to trap the workers. The building operates on a predatory mechanism, consuming grief and reconstructing memories into tangible forms. Craig faces the temptation of Brittany, his late wife, who appears within the structure’s influence. The narrative reveals flooded tunnels, sealed wards, and hidden records that detail what Mercy House has preserved since its closure. Craig must guide the survivors to safety before their personal losses convince them to remain in the darkness forever. Novian draws on gothic traditions of haunted institutions and distorted reality to explore how people carry their trauma home. The story suits readers who enjoy atmospheric dread and psychological tension. It may not appeal to those seeking fast-paced action or clear supernatural explanations.
