Aaron Abilene takes a deeply nostalgic and beloved American setting and twists it into something genuinely unsettling in Good Intentions. This dark fantasy builds an oppressive, eerie atmosphere as a methodical psychopath transforms a familiar yellow path into a route marked by terror and violence. Rather than relying on sudden jump scares, the narrative aims for psychological dread, exploring the grim reality of what happens when malice infects a place of innocence. It is a bleak, chilling journey that avoids revealing too much of its dark destination, making it well-suited for horror readers who appreciate grim dark fantasy with a suspenseful, haunting edge.
