Ghost Train

Jeff Breland presents a chilling narrative centered on an antique locomotive that traverses the countryside under its own spectral power. The train pulls four coaches, driven by ghostly figures who operate without human intervention. Passengers appear only in fleeting glimpses between light and dark, revealing themselves as spirits who perished long ago. A witch’s spirit, inadvertently awakened, gathers souls from her era to transport them to a shared destination. Living beings who encounter this phantom railway face terrifying consequences. The story draws on gothic traditions of the supernatural and the haunting presence of history. Breland explores the intersection of the past and present through the lens of a witch’s curse. The narrative focuses on the mechanics of the ghost train and the fate of those caught in its path. It does not offer comfort or resolution for the living who witness such phenomena. Instead, it details the inevitable dread that follows any contact with these undead travelers. Readers seeking traditional horror with clear supernatural rules will find this work suitable. Those expecting extensive historical analysis or academic commentary may be disappointed. The book is a focused tale of spectral transport and ancient vengeance. It remains a compact exploration of fear rooted in the unseen world.
