This has been on my wishlist for months. The monster is scarier for how little you see of it. Gorier than the description lets on, if that matters to you. Recommended with reservations.
A friend from my book club recommended it. Print is comfortable for late-night reading.
Grabbed it for a long flight. It is the kind of horror that rewards reading with the lights on. Great value for what you get.
First order from this shop. The dread is in the pacing, not in gore, which is exactly how I like it. If you like this kind of cooking, don't hesitate.
Ordered it for Halloween and it came in time. Slow burn, but the burn is the point. The setting is practically a character, and a hostile one. Solid, if not essential.
Got it as a gift for a friend who loves the genre. Genuinely unsettling in places, and it earns it without cheap tricks. My only quibble is that the middle third sags a little. Solid, if not essential.
