Corvus

Buddy Beaudoin presents Corvus, a science fiction novel centering on Daryn Dall, a Black gamer who escapes his grief over losing both parents through digital worlds. He is among the top players in Quest 4 War, a competitive strategy shooter. His exceptional skill attracts the attention of an intergalactic resistance group and their sentient ship, CORVUS. They abduct him to fight the Mare, an alien species using psychic powers to force populations to relive traumatic memories until civilizations collapse. The narrative follows Daryn as he confronts his buried pain while learning to combat a threat that weaponizes memory. He must decide if he can rise to become humanity’s last line of defense or allow the species to fall. This story appeals to readers who enjoy character-driven space operas and psychological horror elements. Those seeking traditional fantasy magic systems or fast-paced action without emotional weight may find it less suitable. Beaudoin uses the framework of military sci-fi to explore personal trauma and resilience. The book is published by Dead Sky Publishing in 2026. It stands within the tradition of speculative fiction that examines human psychology through alien encounters. The text relies on the premise of psychic warfare rather than physical combat alone. Readers interested in the intersection of gaming culture and cosmic horror will find this narrative engaging.
