⭐ Reader reviews
Reader rating
Nguyen excels at constructing a suffocating atmosphere where joy curdles into dread. The juxtaposition of an amusement park with living hell creates a potent psychological horror, leveraging the betrayal of safe spaces. While it lacks traditional character development, this is a deliberate strength for those seeking pure terror. The narrative structure effectively traps the reader in the victims' escalating nightmare, making the lack of resolution feel earned rather than incomplete. It is best suited for connoisseurs of atmospheric ghost stories and cosmic horror who value mood over plot complexity. Readers looking for extensive lore or hopeful endings may find it unsatisfying, but those appreciating intense, short-form supernatural fiction will find it deeply unsettling and memorable.
